This dresser is one item that I actually paid for. But only because it was exactly the size I was looking for to build an island in my kitchen. I removed the top of the dresser for use in another project, sanded and painted the rest of the body. The drawers I sanded to bare wood, stained with a combination of colors I like. I kept the hardware, but painted those in the same color scheme.
For the top, I found a nice piece of pine for cheap at Lowe’s. Sanding, staining and numerous coats of shellac later, I screwed in the new top, with enough of an extension for seating for two.
